- Passport for every founder and executive director
- Criminal record extract from the country of citizenship, and often of residence
- Consent of the property owner to register the company address
- Declaration of the executive director and specimen signature
- Proof of qualification where the trade is regulated rather than free
- Certified Czech translation, and often apostille or legalisation, of documents issued abroad
What is not included
- Legal advice — Valtier is not a law firm; the notarial deed is drawn by a Czech notary
- Tax or accounting advice, and ongoing bookkeeping
- Government, notarial, translation and apostille fees, which are charged by the issuing party
- Any guarantee that a particular bank will open an account, which is the bank's decision
Fees
Some services carry a fixed price. Others start from a base and depend on scope. Project work is quoted per project. You receive scope and fee in writing before any work begins.
Questions about this service
01Do I need to be in Czechia to set up the company?
Not necessarily for every step. The notarial deed generally requires either your presence or a properly executed power of attorney, and banks increasingly require the executive director in person or on a verified video call. We confirm which steps genuinely need you here before you book travel.
02Does setting up a company give me residence?
No. A company and a residence permit are separate procedures with separate criteria, decided by different authorities. They are often pursued together and the sequencing between them matters, which is why we scope both at once when both are needed.
03s.r.o. or trade licence?
It depends on liability, how you expect to be paid, whether you need to hire, and what has to be filed each year. Choosing on setup speed alone is the decision people most often revisit. If a trade licence is the better fit we will say so — that is a smaller engagement, not a larger one.
