Questions people ask before they get in touch.
Each answer starts with the short version. For an answer about your own case, use the enquiry form.
What can I hand over to Valtier?
The admin that comes with doing business or settling in Czechia. Most cases are business setup or residence paperwork, and relocation and market entry come up often too. Companies from abroad can also hand over partner and supplier search, as well as their ongoing local operations. Once your case starts, I set the order of the steps, prepare the documents and keep track of every deadline. Czech offices and counterparties deal with me, in Czech, on your behalf.
Can you give me legal or tax advice?
No. Valtier isn't a law firm, and I don't give tax or accounting advice either. If your case needs legal advice, a partner lawyer takes that part. Tax and accounting questions go to a tax adviser or an accountant. I coordinate their work so it fits the rest of your case.
Can I get started before I move to Czechia?
Yes, and it's usually the better time. Most decisions about the order of steps, the ones that cause delays later, are made before you travel. It doesn't matter which country you live in now, because the work runs by email and video call.
Do you work with companies from abroad?
Yes, companies are a core part of Valtier's work. I handle market entry and company formation for them, along with employee mobility and the search for suppliers and partners. Some companies need someone on the ground in Czechia without hiring locally. The Czech Operations Desk is for them.
Which languages can I use with you?
English, Korean and Czech. Your case can run in one language while I deal with local offices in another, and that split is often why people get in touch.
How does the consultation work?
You start with a short enquiry form, so I know the situation before any call. Simple questions often get a direct answer. If your situation needs a proper assessment, I suggest a paid initial consultation. At the moment that is 40 minutes and a written summary of the next step, so you leave with something you can use rather than a sales call.
Can I check how my case is going online?
Yes, in the client portal. There's no public sign-up. When your case begins, I issue your account myself. After you log in, you see your own case with its requests, documents, deadlines and updates.
Do you only work in Prague?
No, Valtier works across the whole of Czechia. Many cases involve Prague. Supplier search and market entry regularly take me to other regions, though, and relocations often do too.
Can you handle employee moves for my company?
Yes. I work with your HR or mobility staff on each move, handling the residence paperwork and the relocation. If family members come along, I support them too. Updates on every case reach you through one contact, so you don't have to coordinate each move yourself.
How do I find out what it will cost?
Look up your service on the Pricing page, where each one has a price in CZK. A price marked “from” is the total when your documents are within the usual range. It can rise with the number of pages to translate, and you'd hear about that in writing before any work starts. Government and consular fees aren't included. You pay them yourself at the counter. For work that isn't listed, I check the scope and send you a written quote.
Ask about your own situation.
Two short steps, no documents. I read every enquiry myself.
