Průvodce vstupem na český trh
Jak správně otestovat český trh před vstupem.

Czechia is a small market with an unusually industrial profile: manufacturing, engineering, automotive supply, IT services and logistics all carry more weight than the population figure suggests. That makes it attractive as a sourcing base and as a B2B entry point into Central Europe, and it also means generic Western European assumptions travel badly here.
Decide what you are testing
Entry projects go wrong when the objective is vague. "Explore the Czech market" is not an objective. "Find out whether three qualified distributors would carry this category at this margin" is.
Desk research gets you to the starting line
Registry data, industry associations, trade statistics and competitor mapping will tell you who exists and roughly how the category is structured. What they will not tell you is who is actually buying this year, who has capacity, and who has already been burned by a foreign supplier that disappeared.
Validation is where the value is
- Speak to real companies in the segment, in Czech.
- Ask about current suppliers and why they changed the last one.
- Test price expectations before you build a price list.
- Listen for who says no, and note the reason — it is usually more informative than the yes.
The gap that kills projects
A report lands, the sponsor is abroad, nobody locally owns the follow-up, and six months later the file is closed. Research only converts when someone on the ground makes the calls, reads the replies properly and gets meetings into a calendar.
Choosing the model
Direct sales, a distributor, a local partner or your own entity — each has a different cost profile and a different speed. Most companies overestimate how quickly a distributor will invest in a new brand, and underestimate how much local presence a direct model needs.
Research is only useful when it leads to local action.
